August 31, 2011

I didn't make it over to Ikea today because at the last minute, I wasn't sure that the little table/chair sets was what I wanted for this party we are having. Instead, I went to Calico Corners to look for fabric to make little window cushions for the attic. Apparently Calico Corners doesn't sell fabric there. You have to order it. That seemed pretty dumb to me considering they are set up with the bolts all hanging on the wall and stuff. So, I headed to Joanns, but because my 2 year old started acting up, I had to leave. Aside from the purchase of lunch at Whole Foods on the way home, I didn't really buy anything today. I guess you could consider enjoying a nice 9th anniversary dinner at the Four Season a purchase which is what we did this evening.

August 30, 2011

Bought more stuff for the house. Was looking for a piece to go in our powder room and found it at homegoods. It essentially looks exactly like this except that it doesn't have that drawer, just and open shelf $99:

I also bought a whole slew of stuff from Target: 8 pack paper towels, 12 pack toilet paper, 8 pack dove soap, 2 packs of coronet paper plates, 2 packs of small dessert plates, pantene shampoo and conditioner, a wicker basket to put in the shelf of that bathroom thing.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Ikea to pick up 4 kids table/chair sets for the party we're having next weekend.

August 29, 2011

We're going to be having a small party at our home in two weeks and still need to get a bunch of stuff for it. Our powder room currently has no mirror because I was kind of thinking I'd wait until I came across the perfect one. Seems like that'll take a long time. I went to the frame shop today and just picked a frame out and had one made. $418.

Also, I bought a couple bound remnant rugs for my craft room and our master bedroom. $225 and $250.

I also subscribe to several flash sale sites . Yesterday, minisocial had a sale for this clothing line Ferd. I bought these two items for my 2 year old for school (dress $54, leggings $22):

Tomorrow, I'm going to look for a lamp for the attic and also a piece for the powder room.

Sunday, August 28

We moved from a 12oo sqft apartment in the city to a 5800 sqft house in the suburbs back in April. There's an endless amount of things to buy to fill in this space.
Today, I bought a headboard and a side table from Pottery Barn.
Headboard in antique white $599:

Side table in antique white $199:

I've got a couple weeks of purchases to catch up on, but going forward, this will be my shopping diary.

Yesterday, I bought a cute knit jacket from the Blue Beetle in Nantucket:

I also bought a whole slew of stuff from Pinwheels in Nantucket:
For my 2 month old, a romper by Weekend a la mer $44

and for my older daughter, a pink cashmere cardigan by Lillybee $120.

Pinwheels also had a full line of stuff from Moulin Roty which I could not resist.
I bought this tea set $78:

And this sewing box $80:

Also got some tops from Ann Taylor Loft

And an outfit for my daughter from Janie and Jack:

A couple weeks ago I picked this burberry top up. The price was pretty steep, but I could see myself wearing it almost every day throughout the fall and winter $350:

Also got these AG Farrah skinny jeans from Anthropologie $178:
